China plate export prices

According to some sources to Fastmarkets, following the downward trend in the domestic market, the export prices of Chinese plate sheets in the week ending on Tuesday, May 25, followed a downward trend in the domestic market.

Foreign buyers, with limited business activity, took a wait-and-see approach.

Fastmarkets price estimates for heavy steel plate exports, FOB China’s main ports, delivered in August between $ 900 and $ 940 per tonne on Tuesday, down $ 105 to $ 120 per tonne, down from $ 1,020-0,045 per tonne. Had to last week.

Also, some sources have indicated that no transaction has been made in the last seven days.

A Shanghai-based businessman said on Tuesday that demand was too low and that several state-owned factories had not made any quotes. With the downward trend in steel prices in the Chinese domestic market, foreign buyers are also reluctant to place orders. Most of our customers still follow the approach of patience and observation.

A steel plate factory was also offered $ 940 FOB for its buyers in Southeast Asia on Tuesday.

Recently, the export of steel plate sheets to South Asian countries has not been smooth. Plate sheet prices have been falling, so customers are waiting for further price reductions.

Other sources make it clear that exports to North America have not been good either, and market participants prefer to wait and see what happens next.

Yongfeng Steel Company in China on May 21 offered a plate price of $ 940 per ton, although one trader said the price was high for exports to Southeast Asia.

On Wednesday, May 26, news sources reported that Baotou Iron and Steel’s latest price offer for plate plate was $ 870 (FOB) per tonne.
